April and May are beautiful months in Saint George. The weather is spectacular, the flowers are blooming, and the outdoor recreation opportunities are endless.  This is one of our favorite times of the year in southern Utah.  We love to get out and spend time outdoors hiking, biking, golfing, riding ATVs, and exploring canyons. Here are some of our favorite areas around Saint George and Hurricane to explore in the spring.

Zion National Park is one of the most iconic and famous national parks in the world. In the summer months this amazing national park can get very crowded. April and May are much less crowded in this amazing national park.  There are spectacular views of the Zion canyon if you drive through the park and pull out at the scenic viewpoint.  There are also some easy hikes that are beautiful to the emerald pools and along the Virgin River.  Those that are looking for more adventure can hike the amazing Angel’s Landing Trail and the famous Subway hike that takes you up the Virgin River canyon into a spectacular slot canyon.

Red Cliffs National Recreation Area is a beautiful red rock area for those families that are looking for any easy day of hiking and picnicking with children. It is easy to access, and the hikes are beautiful and easy for any age group.  There are also some great picnic areas at the trailhead for families to relax and have a bite to eat for lunch.

Sand Hollow State Park is an amazing state park just north of Saint George near Hurricane.  It has a beautiful reservoir for spending the day on the lake boating, swimming, and cliff jumping.  There are also some great sand dunes in the state park for families that enjoy riding ATVs and side by sides.

Spring vacations in Saint George are a great tradition for many families and for good reason.  The spring in Saint George is an amazing time of year to enjoy the spectacular state and national parks in this area. We hope to see you and your family this spring in Saint George!
